TONY HOUSE was a two-time Ottawa All Star, game MVP and Ontario High School All Star, winning a Junior and Senior Championship with St. Pius X High School. He was highly recruited out of high school and went on to start and play for the nationally ranked University of Manitoba Bisons. Tony attended two Canadian National Team tryouts as well as an Olympic Team camp. Tony has been coaching for over 30 years and has coached a number of successful basketball teams including the senior boy’s programs at Nepean High School and Sacred Heart High School. In 2010-11 House’s Sacred Heart Huskies would win a AAAA City Championship and earn a top 4 ranking in Ontario. Tony has also coached the U19 Ottawa Guardsmen and has been a driving force and coach with the Ottawa Elite program since its inception. His U16 OE team would win the first Ontario Cup Division 1 title for the organization and Final 4 program in CYBL when he coached. He has been instrumental in the development of numerous players going on and playing at the university/college level. Tony partnered with Leo Rautins to form the Rautins-House Basketball Camp that has been a fixture in the community for 30 years and has coordinated the annual Ottawa High School Boys All-Star game for over 20 years. Seeing a need for a high school All-Star game for girls as well, Tony started the Ottawa High School Girls All-Star game for girls as well, which he has been coordinating for the past 3 years. House is the Founder of Canada Topflight Academy (CTA), the first Prep program in Ottawa which currently includes two Senior Men’s (Gold and Red), Junior Boys and Senior Women's teams. The CTA Senior Men have won 2 out of 3 NPA National Championships in their first two years of operation. Last season CTA would go undefeated in league play, was ranked # 1 in the country for most of the year and was selected Coach of the Year for the 2019-20 season. |
